Honor 30S 5G launched with the 7nm Kirin 820 & 64MP quad-cameras with 3x Optical Zoom

Honor has revealed an Honor 30S for China, just a few days later of the global launch of Huawei P40 . This will be the upper mid-range device of the company, positioned underneath the 5G connectivity flagship P40 series. The Honor 30S is the first smartphone to use the Kirin 820 chipset that was expected by the company.

The Honor 30S builds upon its predecessor's style so that it will have the same rounded corners and the butterfly 3D glass back design as seen on the Honor 20S. There will be a side-mounted fingerprint  sensor as well. The latest rectangular matrix camera housing which features four cameras and a flash module is one major difference at the back. Even the handset includes a similar kind of single punch camera to its ancestor. The Honor 30S comes in four colors: Black, Blue, Green and a new gradient pattern from Feather Gold.

Honor 30S Specification

The latest 7 nm Kirin 820 processor arrives with the Honor 30S. Given its mid- location, the chipset promises incredible performance and AI capabilities comparable to some of the better 2020 processors. The processor comes with 1 x core Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.36GHz, 3 x core Cortex-A76 clocked at 2.22GHz, and 4 x core Cortex-A55 clocked at 1.84Ghz. Thanks to this device, the Honor 30S performs much better in terms of AI output than any of the strongest flagships on the market today. You will also get a Mali-G57 6-core GPU to take care of your Graphics.

The handset comes with RAM 8 GB, and storage up to 256 GB. The Honor 30S is fitted with an up front 6.5-inch LTPS LCD punch-hole monitor with a resolution of 2400 about 1080 pixels and HDR10 certification. The handset accepts dual-mode 5 G SA / NSA specifications and Wi-Fi ac, BL 5.1, and a 3.5 mm headphone socket, due to the Kirin 820.  Note that there’s no NFC or an IR port.

Honor 30S also supports the unique e-reader mode (Black & White), eye security mode, Connection Turbo, GPU Turbo and anti-aging tech apps that the company says can keep the Interface smooth and snappy for more than 30 months. The phone comes with a 40W fast wired charging 4000 mAh power. It operates on Magic UI 3.1.1 at the peak of Android 10.

Honor 30S Camera Setup

The Honor 30S comes with a back-facing quad camera system. The primary camera is a 64MP f/1.8 shooter which is paired with an 8MP f/2.4 telephoto shooter with 3x optical zoom, 5x hybrid zoom, and 20x digital zoom. There's another ultra-wide-angle 8MP f/2.4 lens, and eventually a 2MP f/2.4 macro photographer that can handle up to 4 cm of close-up shots. Unfortunately, OIS is not going on the line.

The new Honor edition supports 720p output, 4 K images and 960fps slo-mo recording. For stabilisation, you do get AIS and EIS. There is a single 16MP front punch-hole device that takes care of your selfie requirements.

The Honor 30S will be up for pre-sale from 30th March,2020 and will go on sale on April 7 for the first time. Chinese offline sales kick off April 10. Notably, on April 8, the Huawei P40 series including the brand new Huawei P40 Pro Plus will be released in China.
