Apple will not use BOE OLEDs for iPhone 12's first batch, at least
A study making it clear that Samsung would not use BOE OLED panels for its upcoming Galaxy S21 series, and there was a quick mention in that article of the Apple not giving BOE the green light too. We now have even more info across the supply chain for iPhone OLED. People familiar with the matter claim that Samsung would be responsible for roughly 80 percent of the OLEDs planned for the current iPhone 12 lineup as all four models speculated to support this display technology.
However, the rumor declares that BOE screens will not feature only the first batch of iPhones. Probably in the immediate future, BOE will be able to follow the expectations set by Apple and start manufacturing iPhone 12 displays. After all, in the past, Apple has a tradition of utilizing BOE displays, as even the new Apple Watch uses the tiny OLED screens of LG and BOE. And the next Series 6 is often said to use the display of BOE.
